Common Industrial Components We Build

At Illinois Pulley & Gear, we understand that with the right equipment, your business can’t help but succeed. Not only does it allow your workers to operate more efficiently, but it also increases yields, guarantees the highest quality output, allows you to remain competitive, and more.

That’s why we partner with businesses in a range of different industries to build custom industrial components for crucial equipment on a regular basis. In addition to timing pulley stock we also offer pulley replacement parts, flanges, and more – all so that you can rest easy knowing your needs are taken care of.

Timing Pulley Stock

At Illinois Pulley & Gear, we’re capable of manufacturing a large variety of high quality timing pulley stock to meet your needs, regardless of how precise they happen to be.

All of our timing pulley stock is precision machined right in the United States at our state-of-the-art facility in Schaumburg. We believe it’s important for our clients to know that we don’t use extrusions, and we absolutely do not import pulley stock from elsewhere.

This creates a few distinct benefits, all at once. First, it gives our clients the flexibility they need to know that their requirements will be met with ease. All they have to do is select the appropriate material for the end application, choose their tooth profile, specify the number of teeth, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Because everything is localized in the United States, this also allows us to turn around a superior quality finished product in a fraction of the time it might take other providers

Pulley Replacement Parts

Finding the right pulley replacement parts is often a bigger challenge than most people realize.

Sometimes, you search high and low for the right part only to find that it is out of stock at most providers. In other situations, it’s been so long since you originally purchased the equipment that the OEM has gone out of business – leaving you high and dry.

Maybe the machine’s manual is missing, and you’re not quite sure what you need in the first place. Maybe the item is just too old and is no longer being produced. The important thing for you to know is that regardless of the challenge you face, the team at Illinois Pulley and Gear is ready to help keep your equipment running precisely as it should.

When you need pulley replacement parts, all you need to do is send us your existing one, and we’ll get to work. We can reverse-engineer the product in a matter of not months or weeks, but days. We’ll have an exceptional quality replacement part in your hands as quickly as possible, allowing you to avoid unexpected periods of equipment downtime and other issues that could put a damper on the productivity of your business.

Over the years we’ve manufactured pulley replacement parts for clients in a number of different industries like packing, food processing, and more – and can’t wait for the opportunity to do the same for you, too.

Flanges

As manufacturing and industrial experts, the team at IPG knows exactly how important flanges are to the overall success of your organization.

When you’re talking about a pulley or other mission-critical piece of equipment, motion cannot stop – period. A pulley that fails at the wrong time can not only hinder productivity and eat into your bottom line. It can also cause a major amount of damage to the machinery in question, too.

Over the years, IPG has developed a unique flanging process that results in only the best quality products for our clients. We utilize techniques that include but are certainly not limited to ones like:

  • Roll staking. This is a more organic way to attach flanges to smaller timing pulleys in particular. As opposed to crimping on just six or eight points around the edge of the flange as is customary, roll staking results in a crimp of 100%.
  • Heat shrinking. This is commonly used for heavy, large-diameter flanges. The flange will first be heated to at least 450 degrees Fahrenheit (sometimes more) before being placed on the flange step. Once it cools, the flange will shrink onto the step of the pulley, allowing it to be permanently held in place.
  • Bolt-on Flanges. This is a technique used for the heaviest and most durable flanges available on the market today. The flanges get attached to the sides of a timing pulley by flat head screws. This makes it easy to remove the flange in the future for belt-related maintenance as-needed. With easy removal is simply not possible with other methods, and it’s a benefit that many of our clients capitalize on regularly.
